Great app but I miss the third viewing method that was in the previous version 2.01? I believe it's called "Cylinders". The other two views are "Ball and Stick" and "Space Filling". While these two are ok, the Cylinders view is more spectacular and eye-catching. I first saw this app with the cylinders view on an iPad in an Apple store and was impressed. Please bring the cylinders view back.

I had some issues with the rendering in this mode, so I removed it in order to get the application updated in a reasonable amount of time. In fact, some people had requested that I remove it because they thought it was useless and cluttered up the visualization options.

I'll add it back in, once I get a chance to work on this again. I also have some plans for improving the range of ways that you can customize the molecule visualization.

I'll second the request for a cylinder/tube view as well as adding a request for wire/stick view.

Ball and stick is too busy for viewing the hydrogen bonding pattern in V-amylose for students. I've previously used alternative rendering on a laptop and really would welcome these additional views.

Bump!

Just about to give a lecture on amylose but have had to ditch the iPad and lug in the laptop so that I can use the tube view on Spartan viewer (laptop/desktop only) with the pdb file of amylose.

So, very keen to see molecules handle wireframe and tube representations.

Having said that, I have tried a number of other iPad apps which don't even read my pdb files. Molecules is supreme in this.

Cheers,
Colin
