Add old style film grain animation on video

Hi,
First I want to say that this is an impressive framework, well done!
I've been testing it out, and I was wondering if it is possible to add animation on top when writing a video file?
It is possible to add an image as overlay, but adding many transparent images with film grain and repeat them would be slow I think.
Any suggestions?

You can blend in image and video sources using one of the many blend filters, so you could achieve this effect.
The one issue you might run into is that I don't have a good solution for providing looping video as a source right now. The video I take in just tends to play through a movie once, and then stop. You're welcome to try fixing that if you need it for your case.
